Depression & Emotional Fatigue Therapy

Depression can feel like a heavy weight, leaving you stuck, disconnected, or perpetually exhausted from trying to "hold it all together." In our work, we look at depression not as a personal failure, but as a sign that your nervous system is overwhelmed and seeking a safe space to exhale.

Depression is currently impacting your daily life, your relationships, and your physical body.

Some of the symptoms:

  • Emotional Exhaustion: Persistent feelings of sadness, emptiness, or feeling completely numb.

  • Loss of Interest (Anhedonia): No longer finding joy in hobbies, creative projects, or work.

  • Physical Fatigue: Deep tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix; a heavy feeling in your limbs or chest.

  • Cognitive Fog: Difficulty concentrating, making simple decisions, or staying motivated.

  • Perfectionism/Shame: Feeling like you are failing or letting others down if you aren't always functioning at 100%.

  • Social Withdrawal: Pulling away from friends, family, or partners because socializing takes too much energy.

  • Sleep Disruptions: Sleeping too much (hypersomnia) or struggling to fall/stay asleep (insomnia).

Mind-Body Connection

Depression often manifests physically in the body. Where do you notice your emotional stress or heaviness living physically? ( tension in the shoulders, a hollow feeling in the stomach, muscle aches, shallow breathing),

My Approach to Helping with Depression

Depression can feel like a heavy fog that disconnects you from yourself, your loved ones, and the life you want to lead. If you are struggling with a persistent low mood, exhaustion, or a sense of hopelessness, please know that you do not have to carry this weight alone.

My approach to treating depression is integrative, collaborative, and deeply tailored to your unique story. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I draw from four powerful, evidence-based modalities to help you heal from the inside out, addressing your thoughts, your history, your bodily experience, and your inherent strengths.

A Compassionate, Humanistic Foundation

At the core of my practice is a Humanistic approach. I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your own life, and that you possess an innate capacity for growth and healing. In our sessions, you will find a safe, non-judgmental, and deeply empathetic space. We work as equals, honoring your lived experience and focusing on your present-day choices, self-acceptance, and personal growth. You are seen as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Rewiring Patterns with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Depression often traps you in a cycle of harsh self-criticism, hopelessness, and negative thought loops. Using CBT, we will gently identify these automatic, unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that keep you stuck. Together, we will develop practical, actionable strategies to challenge these thoughts, reframe your perspective, and gradually reintroduce fulfilling activities into your routine to lift your mood.

Uncovering Roots through Psychodynamic Therapy

While CBT manages your present-day symptoms, Psychodynamic therapy helps us understand why they are there. Depression is often linked to unresolved conflicts, past losses, or early relational patterns that continue to influence how you see yourself today. By exploring your history and bringing unconscious emotional patterns into awareness, we can break free from long-standing cycles and create lasting, systemic change.

Calming the Nervous System with the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)

Depression doesn’t just live in the mind; it lives deeply in the body. It often manifests as a state of nervous system shutdown, leaving you feeling numb, frozen, or chronically exhausted. Through TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model), a somatically-oriented approach, we will work together to track your physical sensations and safely release stress or trauma stored in your body. By learning to anchor yourself in your body's natural resilience, you can gently expand your capacity to handle life's stressors and restore a sense of vitality.

How We Work Together

By weaving these modalities together, we address your depression from every angle:

  • The Present: Giving you immediate relief and coping skills (CBT).

  • The Whole Person: Creating a safe space where you feel truly heard and valued (Humanistic).

  • The Past: Healing the root causes and relational wounds (Psychodynamic).

  • The Body: Restoring balance and energy to your nervous system (TRM).

You deserve to feel connected, vibrant, and at peace again. Let’s take the first step toward your healing together.
